Triangle Telephone Cooperative and Central Montana Communications are proud to be a part of VisionNet and NorthNet, the interactive television distance learning networks. NorthNet makes getting a college education much more possible and convenient for rural Montanans because students can take courses from their hometown, or one close by. The courses are available at 75 interactive television studios across the state. VisionNet was established by 5 telephone cooperatives to fulfill the educational and medical needs of rural Montanans.

Some of the studios in and around TTC and CMC service areas are: MSU-Billings, Blue Sky High School (H.S.), Box Elder H.S., Central Montana Medical Center, Chinook H.S., Chester H.S., Dodson H.S., Fort Benton H.S., Fort Belknap College, Havre H.S., Hays-Lodgepole H.S., HCE/TTC business office, Kremlin-Gildford H.S., Malta H.S., Rapelje H.S., Stone Child Community College, Turner H.S., Whitewater H.S., and Winifred H.S. For a course brochure, or to register for a NorthNet course, contact MSU-Northern Extended University at 1-800-662-6132.

These interactive television studios also prove very helpful to high school students in the area. A variety of classes are made available to these students due to the ability to share classroom instruction. This is very beneficial to rural Montana since schools cannot afford to hire teachers to instruct such a wide variety of classes.

Interactive television is also a great benefit to rural medical facilities. VisionNet recently connected five rural hospitals in Montana. Now the staff at hospitals in Malta, Poplar, Plentywood, Glasgow and Scobey can interact efficiently.
